Are all donations made available to customers?

All gently-used items in good condition are made available. Clothes that are stained or damaged are not. When in doubt, our volunteers ask, "Would I wear this or would I want my child to wear this?" If not, we do not offer it to our customers.

When can I drop off my clothing donation?

The Radford Clothing Bank can receive your donation during open hours or during our volunteer work day and offer you a receipt, or

you can leave bagged donations in bin when Clothing Bank is closed: PLEASE BOX OR BAG DONATIONS YOU LEAVE IN THE BIN!

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND VOLUNTEERS. Do NOT leave bags of clothes that should have been discarded.

What about out-of-season clothes?

Unfortunately, we have almost no room for storing out-of-season clothes. You will do us a huge favor if you can store your out-of-season clothes until that season's items begin appearing in retail stores.

One exception-WINTER COATS can be accepted at any time.

Can I claim this as a charitable deduction? At what value?

If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return (using the long form), you are entitled to claim a charitable deduction for your donation to the Radford Clothing Bank. You may use the list of average (Goodwill) prices below as a guide for determining the value of your donation. Values are approximate and based on items in good condition.
